Text Box: Why Give to Cornerstone Adult Services?
The fees received on behalf of our participants, cover only a portion of the cost of providing services. We rely on the generous support of our friends to make up the difference, thus enabling us to provide the highest quality care to our participants. The funds we raise allow us to continue to provide exceptional programming,

Gifts of Cash

This is the easiest way to give.  Your cash gifts are tax deductible in the year in which you make the gift and are deductible to the fullest extent of the laws.

In Honor/Memory Gifts

Making a gift in honor/memory of a special person is a great way to pay tribute to those who have touched our lives.  When you make a gift in memory of and/or in honor of, Cornerstone Adult Services will acknowledge not only you, but at your request, we will advise the individual or family you have identified of your support, by sending a card to the individual named or to the family.  (Please note that the amount of your gift will not be disclosed).

Gifts of Securities
The best stocks to donate are those that have increased greatly in value, particularly those producing a low yield. In order to preserve tax advantages, it is critical that you transfer the physical securities rather than the proceeds from a sale.  If you donate a stock that has risen in value and that you've held for more than a year, you pay no capital gains tax on the transaction and are entitled to a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the stock.

Gifts-in-Kind
Gifts of personal or business property are a great way to support our organization.  It is your responsibility to place a value on the gift for a tax deduction.

Gifts of Life Insurance
With this type of gift, Cornerstone Adult Services is named the irrevocable beneficiary and the owner of a life insurance policy. You either purchase the policy outright or agree to pay all future premiums.  You receive an income tax deduction for the current cash surrender value of the policy. If you pay future premiums on such a policy, Cornerstone Adult Services records these payments as contributions from you.

Planned Giving

Planned gifts are attractive to donors because, in addition to providing vital support to Cornerstone Adult Services, they can result in significant tax savings for the donors and his or her heirs.  By making planned gifts, individuals may make larger contributions to the organization than they could possibly make during their lifetimes.  Planned gifts are a critical source of support that will foster the organization's mission for years to come.

There are many different vehicles for making a planned gift.  The Bequest, or gift made through a will, allows you to designate the recipient of an asset or you my designate a share of your total estate (after taxes). You may even stipulate the purpose of your gift.  In addition to the Bequest, donors may establish one of the following: Charitable Gift Annuity, Charitable Lead Trust, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Annuity Trust, and Unitrust.
